About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while you work toward your degree. You will assist with daily operations, support the pharmacy team, and help provide patient care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Prepare medication containers and affix labels.
- Handle inventory control tasks, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Maintain the confidentiality of private medical information and prescription pricing in line with HIPAA.
- Complete monthly inventory counts and follow security procedures.
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with team members to follow store policies and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration as a pharmacy intern with the State Pharmacy Board.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate arithmetic calculations.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers.

- This role is based in Coralville, Iowa.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time position.
- The internship follows a rolling schedule.
