About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for students pursuing a career in pharmacy. You will work on-site in a retail environment, supporting pharmacy operations while gaining practical experience under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Assist with inventory control by ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing areas.
- Assist in training other employees.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Follow security and quality assurance procedures to ensure patient safety.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Capacity for logical or scientific thinking to solve problems.
- Skill in composing original correspondence and following technical manuals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
