About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing efficient service while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail setting, assisting with daily tasks and interacting with customers.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following all safety and regulatory procedures.
- Assist with inventory control by stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering data into the system.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Support the team by adhering to standard operating procedures and facility policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy and current registration as an intern with the State Pharmacy Board.
- Six months or less of related work experience.
- Ability to solve problems using logical or scientific thinking.
- Capability to compose original correspondence and follow technical manuals.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
