About the role#
This position provides direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse at Springfield Regional Medical Center. You will gain clinical experience and exposure through job shadowing and by performing tasks appropriate to your scope of practice. This is a paid, part-time role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Support the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide basic patient care, including recording vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, and helping with mobility.
- Act as a liaison between patients and nursing staff to report changes or concerns.
- Participate in patient data collection and maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform delegated tasks once your competency has been validated.
- Develop critical thinking skills through collaboration with the healthcare team.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
- The ability to communicate clearly and follow directions from the healthcare team.
- Knowledge of patient safety standards and infection prevention.
