About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work on-site in Fontana, California. This is a full-time, paid internship for students currently pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. You will support the pharmacy team in daily operations while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Dispense medication and ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and coordinate with insurance companies.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock to shelves.
- Maintain a clean and safe pharmacy environment.
- Handle customer interactions with honesty and integrity while following safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
