About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Atlanta, Georgia. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions regarding pharmacy products and store items.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications and bag filled prescriptions for delivery.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies.
- Provide immunizations under pharmacist supervision.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by stocking orders and returning unused medications.
- Maintain a clean and safe department while reporting any safety risks or incidents.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to provide drug counseling and over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Skill in managing conflict in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve business issues.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding patient and business information.
