About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern in Little Rock. This is a full-time, paid position that offers a rolling term. You will work on-site in a retail pharmacy setting, supporting the team in providing patient care and maintaining pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions about products sold in the department and the store.
- Learn about pharmaceutical products and discuss them with customers and prescribers.
- Provide drug counseling and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Enter patient and prescription information into the computer system accurately.
- Dispense medication, bag prescriptions, and deliver them to customers.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and work with insurance companies.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean department, stock incoming orders, and manage inventory.
- Follow safety protocols and report incidents or risks to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work well in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a cooperative and nonconfrontational way.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling business and customer information.
- Ability to follow directions and ask for help when needed.
