About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Meijer, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on patient care, prescription processing, and inventory management. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while developing your clinical and operational skills.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service by assisting patients with product selection, answering questions in person or by phone, and providing medication pricing.
- Process and fill prescriptions using the pharmacy computer system for data entry and third party adjudication.
- Manage inventory tasks, including updating balance on hand, ordering products, checking in orders, and processing transfers or salvage.
- Support clinical services, including performing health screenings and immunizations after receiving proper training and authorization.
- Handle daily pharmacy workflow, such as pulling products, counting and labeling prescriptions, and managing the Will Call station.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school and a state-specific Pharmacy Intern License.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and a professional appearance.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations and use pharmacy computer systems.
- Knowledge of brand and generic medication names, medical terminology, and various dosage forms.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and pharmacy-related services.
- Organizational and prioritization skills with a focus on timeliness and dependability.
- A team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.

- Location: Columbia Ave West, Battle Creek, Michigan.
- This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term.
- Work is performed on-site.
