About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing efficient service to customers while ensuring all pharmacy tasks meet state and federal regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Process and fill prescriptions, including preparing and affixing labels to containers.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and data entry.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and a professional appearance.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow security procedures and quality assurance programs.
- Help train other employees and work with the team to follow store policies.
- Assist in other areas of the store when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of related work experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
- Comfort with tasks requiring repetitive motion, reaching, and standing.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements regarding private medical information.
