About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to provide customer service and support pharmacy operations. This role involves following state and federal regulations to fill prescriptions and maintain a functional, clean pharmacy environment.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescription orders.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Assist with training other employees.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures, including quality assurance programs.
- Handle pharmacy equipment such as computers, scanners, and printers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration as a pharmacy intern with the State Pharmacy Board.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
