About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for a future role as a pharmacist. This position is part-time and involves on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and waiting bin inventories.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
