About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to provide efficient service and support pharmacy operations. This role is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and involves assisting with prescription processing, inventory management, and maintaining pharmacy standards in a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide prompt and friendly service to pharmacy customers.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures, including Quality Assurance Programs.
- Adhere to HIPAA standards regarding the confidentiality of private medical information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Strong logical and scientific thinking skills to solve problems.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, such as filling prescriptions and assisting customers simultaneously.
