About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing efficient service while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail setting while assisting with patient care and pharmacy maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following standard operating procedures.
- Provide prompt and friendly service to customers.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, stocking, and entering data into the computer system.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Assist with monthly inventory and quality assurance programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to solve problems.
- Proficiency in arithmetic calculations.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
