Retail Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

The Retail Pharmacy Intern supports pharmacy operations by providing efficient customer service and assisting with the preparation of prescriptions. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, this role ensures adherence to state and federal regulations while maintaining the pharmacy environment.

What you'll do#

• Fill and process prescriptions while preparing and affixing labels to containers.
• Provide prompt and efficient service to pharmacy customers.
• Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
• Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
• Follow security, regulatory, and quality assurance procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
• Ability to solve problems using logical or scientific thinking.
• Proficiency in arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
• Ability to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a retail environment.
