About the role#
The Retail Pharmacy Intern role at Hy-Vee, Inc. provides an opportunity to support pharmacy operations in a retail environment. This position involves working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily tasks, customer service, and inventory management. This is a paid, on-site, full-time position located in Iowa City, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide prompt and efficient service to pharmacy customers.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures, including Quality Assurance Programs.
- Perform arithmetic calculations as required for pharmacy operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and evaluate technical data.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
