Retail Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will support pharmacy operations by providing efficient service and assisting in the preparation and processing of prescriptions. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining high standards of customer care and operational accuracy.

What you'll do#

• Fill and process prescriptions in accordance with established statutes and regulations.
• Provide prompt and efficient service to pharmacy customers.
• Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
• Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
• Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in training employees and support other areas of the store as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
• Ability to solve problems using logical or scientific thinking.
• Proficiency in following technical manuals and evaluating technical data.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, including algebraic and geometric functions.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
