About the role#
This is a paid, on-site Retail Pharmacy Intern position based in West Des Moines, Iowa. The role involves working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support pharmacy operations, maintain inventory, and provide service to customers. This position is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide prompt and efficient service to pharmacy customers.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Prepare and label prescription containers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Assist with training employees and managing monthly inventory.
- Ensure strict adherence to security, regulatory procedures, and quality assurance programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to perform logical or scientific thinking to solve problems involving abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficiency in composing original correspondence and following technical manuals.
- Capability to perform arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
