About the role#
Hy-Vee is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Intern to join the team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position with rolling start dates. The role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing efficient service to customers under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and entering inventory data.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Adhere to company policies, security procedures, and quality assurance programs.
- Support team members and assist in training staff as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer medical information and pharmacy data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to perform logical or scientific thinking to solve problems involving abstract and concrete variables.
- Capability to follow technical manuals and evaluate technical data.
- Proficiency in arithmetic, including algebraic and geometric calculations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform repetitive motions.
