About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy department under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This role involves direct customer interaction and the accurate processing of prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix appropriate labels to containers.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering merchandise, stocking shelves, checking invoices, and entering data into the pharmacy system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Provide prompt and efficient service to pharmacy customers.
- Support team members in maintaining standard operating procedures and security policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to solve problems using logical or scientific thinking.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to compose original correspondence.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and evaluate technical data.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
