About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support pharmacy operations. This role involves direct customer service and the technical processing of prescriptions. You will ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while preparing and affixing labels to containers.
- Assist with inventory control by ordering and stocking merchandise and checking invoices.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Work with the pharmacy team to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and security policies.
- Assist in other areas of the store when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and evaluate technical data.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as filling scripts and assisting customers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
