About the role#
The Clinical Intern provides supervised support within a residential behavioral health setting. You will build core competencies in clinical practice while contributing to the daily therapeutic environment. This role involves direct interaction with individuals receiving care for complex behavioral health conditions, severe mental illness, and autism.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate psychoeducation groups and skills-based interventions.
- Complete clinical documentation, assessments, and group logs in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support coordinated, person-centered care.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized crisis stabilization plans.
- Maintain regular communication across clinical teams and with other departments.
- Review incident reports, identify patterns, and elevate concerns to supervisors.
- Audit clinical charts to verify compliance with documentation standards and federal billing requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, studying social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks and child abuse registry checks.
- Responsibility for maintaining all mandatory training and certification requirements.
