About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward your pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking merchandise, and checking invoices.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Report medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Provide customer service and maintain a clean pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending.

- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa.
- Schedule: Night and weekend shifts are required.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time position with rolling enrollment.
