About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern at Kroger, you will work directly under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing quality care to customers while maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail setting, assisting with both clinical tasks and daily pharmacy functions.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and answer medication questions for customers.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication and bag prescriptions for accurate delivery.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
- Administer immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized department.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
