About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work directly with our pharmacy team to support patient care and store operations. This role offers hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting, allowing you to apply your clinical knowledge while learning the day-to-day operations of a high-volume pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and answer medication questions for customers.
- Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medication and prepare prescriptions for delivery.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Process third-party insurance information and coordinate with insurance providers when necessary.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment.
- Handle customer interactions with honesty and integrity, including assisting older adults and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skills to manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
- Capability to follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
