About the role#
Hy-Vee is hiring a Data Analytics Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our team in West Des Moines to work on projects that help us understand how customers interact with our business. This role focuses on using first and third party data to identify trends across our in-store and digital operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to define business questions for brand managers, product owners, and leadership.
- Write code to gather, merge, and aggregate data.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and transformations using R or Python.
- Build, evaluate, and iterate on models to solve business problems.
- Create visualizations and present your findings to the team.
- Prepare structured, reproducible code for the data science pipeline.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a BA/BS degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Experience writing SQL for SQL Server.
- Knowledge of statistical software like R or Python.
- Experience with reporting software such as PowerBI or DataStudio.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- The term runs during the Summer of 2027.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
