About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work directly with customers and the pharmacy team to provide essential health services. You will help maintain a welcoming environment, assist with daily pharmacy operations, and ensure that patients receive accurate information and care. This role is on-site in Phoenix, Arizona.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions about products throughout the store.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system.
- Dispense medications and provide drug counseling to customers.
- Discuss pharmaceutical products with customers and prescribers.
- Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and work with insurance companies on behalf of customers.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks or incidents to management.
- Assist diverse groups of people, including older adults, minors, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Capacity to manage conflict in a calm and professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business data.
- Ability to follow instructions and ask for help when needed.
- Capability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
