About the role#
As a Nurse Extern, you will provide basic and intermediate nursing care for an assigned group of patients. You will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse to support patient care needs across various specialized clinical units. This role focuses on providing essential assistance and comfort to patients throughout their healthcare journey.
What you'll do#
- Deliver nursing care to patients based on your demonstrated competence.
- Assist patients with comfort and support needs during their stay.
- Collaborate with clinical staff in areas ranging from general nursing and surgical services to specialized units like the Emergency Unit, Maternal Child units, and psychiatric care.
- Complete established unit competencies as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of at least one semester of clinicals in an RN program.
- BLS certification from an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
- Ability to obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 60 days of hire.
