About the role#
The Radiology Extern provides support within the float pool to ensure quality patient care. This temporary, per diem position involves assisting technologists and acting as a primary communication link between nursing staff and various departments. You will help manage the flow of patients and maintain the clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Clean and set up imaging equipment and exam rooms.
- Assist technologists with patient positioning and care.
- Verify patient identity and coordinate transport needs with nursing staff.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort throughout their visit.
- Help move patients between beds, wheelchairs, and imaging equipment.
- Maintain the supply room to keep the department organized.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Radiology Program.
- Valid BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clinical teams.
