About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in the preparation, dispensing, and delivery of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Your specific responsibilities will align with your current academic standing and professional education level.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
- Review and interpret orders for inpatients and outpatients to ensure appropriate dosage and identify potential drug interactions.
- Conduct medication rounds and prepare IV additives using aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient therapy through pharmacokinetic analysis of therapeutic drug levels.
- Participate in educational programs and projects to improve department operations.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Current Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
- Pharmacy Technician certification, as required by state regulations.
