About the role#
The Nurse Extern II role provides expanded clinical experience for nursing students within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support patient care in a facility that includes a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit. This role is designed to offer hands-on exposure to clinical environments while supporting the Registered Nursing staff.
What you'll do#
- Assist Registered Nursing staff by performing daily patient care activities.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient support.
- Report significant patient observations directly to a Registered Nurse.
- Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients during their healthcare journey.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
- Completion of at least the first clinical rotation.
- Valid AHA BLS Certification.
- No prior work experience is required.
