About the role#
The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional RN nursing students. This position allows students to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities while gaining hands-on experience in an emergency room setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients to ensure a positive healthcare experience.
- Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide care for med-surg patients.
- Report significant patient observations to a Registered Nurse.
- Perform related nursing support duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
- Completion of at least the first clinical rotation.
- Current CPR certification.
