About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future career as a Pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy operations under the guidance of a preceptor. You will gain hands-on experience through a structured training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at various stations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities, to build your clinical and technical skills.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, solving problems, and providing caring service.
- Support immunization services by educating patients on their importance and assisting with administration where permitted by law and training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- A customer-service mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
