About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap to learn pharmacy team operations.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowed by law.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, federal, and state regulations regarding patient safety and privacy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like typing or reaching.
