About the role#
As a Student Nurse Acute Care Technician, you will assist with basic activities of daily living and medical procedures. You work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to support patient care and unit operations. This is a full-time, on-site position for nursing students.
What you'll do#
- Perform and document basic patient care tasks under direct RN supervision.
- Maintain competency in all trained procedures.
- Seek clarification from nursing staff when in doubt about how to proceed.
- Maintain a safe environment and report any hazards.
- Document tasks accurately in the medical record according to unit guidelines.
- Assist with clerical duties and coordinate patient flow using telecommunication devices.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Current enrollment as a nursing student (LPN or RN).
- Completion of your first nursing clinical rotation or semester.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Reading and math skills appropriate for the role.
- Ability to operate computers and multi-line phone systems.
