About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you support the pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Complete a structured training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
- Field medical questions and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support immunizations by educating patients on their importance and, if certified, assist in the administration process.
- Perform basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, or a related customer service field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
