About the role#
This training position provides hands-on experience for students pursuing a career in imaging technology. You will work under the direction of a radiologist and the supervision of department management to support patient care and daily operations. This role is designed for individuals currently enrolled in an approved Allied Health program who are looking to gain practical skills in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with patients and families to provide care, including transport and assistance with personal needs.
- Coordinate patient flow throughout the department alongside technologists.
- Maintain equipment by performing daily and monthly quality control checks and notifying supervisors of needed repairs.
- Follow all infection prevention procedures and safety protocols.
- Observe patients for status changes and call for appropriate assistance when necessary.
- Provide clerical support and maintain accurate records.
- Show initiative by seeking out additional assignments and supporting team operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an approved Allied Health program, such as Nursing, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of radiation safety.
