Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services. This role supports the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program, providing clinical experience to students enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.

What you'll do#

• Assist with pharmacist duties, including order entry, drug information, and clinical monitoring.
• Prepare and dispense medications and sterile products, such as chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics, without errors.
• Operate pharmacy automation systems accurately and efficiently.
• Prioritize daily activities to optimize workflow and resolve problems.
• Maintain confidential reports and manage data within the computer system.
• Procure pharmaceutical supplies and deliver them to nursing units.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active Pharmacy Intern License in the State of Ohio.
• Up to 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred but not required.

• Location: Bethesda North Hospital, Montgomery, Ohio.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Full-time (PRN status).
• Schedule: Shifts vary, including a commitment to rotating weekends and holidays.
