About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services. This role supports the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program, providing clinical experience to students enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Assist with pharmacist duties, including order entry, drug information, and clinical monitoring.
- Prepare and dispense medications and sterile products, such as chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics, without errors.
- Operate pharmacy automation systems accurately and efficiently.
- Prioritize daily activities to optimize workflow and resolve problems.
- Maintain confidential reports and manage data within the computer system.
- Procure pharmaceutical supplies and deliver them to nursing units.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern License in the State of Ohio.
- Up to 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
