About the role#
The Nurse Extern program in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is a developmental opportunity for nursing students to gain clinical experience across various specialties. This role involves participating in a guided training program that aligns with the scope of practice established by the State Board of Nursing.
What you'll do#
- Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients.
- Participate in patient care planning.
- Implement patient care activities.
- Observe and evaluate patient care.
- Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program.
- Completion of your first clinical rotation.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
