About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and assisting with essential care tasks to help maintain a therapeutic environment for patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and patient comfort measures.
- Communicate with the care team through handoffs and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet safety and compliance standards.
- Perform hourly rounding and provide purposeful interactions with patients and families.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and ensure proper cleaning of items after patient discharge.
- Uphold customer service standards with patients, families, and other departments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety for skilled nursing.
