About the role#
The Radiology Student works under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist to develop technical skills and clinical competency. This role supports patient care by assisting with imaging examinations, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment across various imaging modalities.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations under direct supervision, ensuring proper patient identification and adherence to protocols.
- Position patients appropriately and select technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide instructions and promote comfort during imaging procedures.
- Follow department protocols for the use of personal protective equipment, radiation safety, and infection control.
- Label images accurately and use side markers according to departmental standards.
- Document procedures in appropriate systems and ensure exam fields are completed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to enhance learning and performance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Zero to one year of clinical experience.
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback in a clinical learning environment.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
