About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with essential care tasks and help maintain a therapeutic environment. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate with the care team by reporting patient condition changes and participating in shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by asking questions and applying feedback from your supervisor.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized to meet safety standards.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Perform hourly rounding to interact with patients and support their healing process.
- Maintain and clean patient care equipment like glucometers and scales.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Up to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
