About the role#
As a Radiology Student Tech, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This is a part-time, PRN variable position designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited program to gain clinical competency and develop technical skills across various imaging modalities.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations while following department protocols for radiation safety, PPE, and infection control.
- Position patients and select technical factors to obtain diagnostic images.
- Communicate clearly with patients to provide instructions and ensure their comfort.
- Label images accurately and use side markers.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems and ensure exam fields are completed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from clinical instructors and technologists to ensure safe performance.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior when interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Zero to one year of clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Basic familiarity with computer systems and electronic health records.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback in a clinical setting.
