About the role#
As a Radiology Student, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This role focuses on developing your technical skills and clinical competency through hands-on experience. You will support the team by assisting with exams, following safety protocols, and maintaining an organized work environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations while ensuring correct patient identification and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Position patients and select technical factors to obtain clear diagnostic images.
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure their comfort and understanding.
- Follow all department protocols regarding radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Label images accurately and use side markers according to standards.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems, including exam fields and charge entry.
- Keep the imaging environment clean and safe.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to improve your performance.
- Maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Up to one year of clinical experience.
- A basic understanding of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection prevention.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- The ability to follow instructions and apply feedback.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Ability to obtain BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.
