About the role#
Inova Loudoun Hospital is hiring a Radiology Extern 2. This is a part-time, PRN position based in Leesburg, Virginia. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist to support patient care and department operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks and procedures based on your completed competencies and unit needs.
- Assist the healthcare team in implementing care plans through collaboration and communication.
- Apply radiography principles and radiation protection procedures, including the use of shielding and collimation devices.
- Help radiologic technologists with examinations by following department protocols, sterile techniques, and isolation precautions.
- Identify your own learning needs to improve your practice knowledge base.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Status as a 2nd-year student in your program.
- Successful completion of Extern 1 competencies.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, required by your start date.
