About the role#
Inova Health is hiring a Radiology Extern 2 for our Leesburg location. This is a part-time, on-site role with a PRN schedule. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks and procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist.
- Assist the healthcare team in implementing patient care plans.
- Apply radiation protection procedures, including the use of collimation devices and protective shielding.
- Help technologists perform various examinations using standard department protocols and sterile techniques.
- Identify your own learning needs and seek opportunities to improve your clinical knowledge.
- Adhere to established radiography principles.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- You must be in your second year of the program.
- Successful completion of all Radiology Extern 1 competencies.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, required by your start date.
