About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration to provide safe, compassionate care while assisting with essential tasks to help the clinical team.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and patient comfort measures.
- Communicate effectively with the care team during handoffs, report changes in patient conditions, and participate in bedside shift reports.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by ensuring patient rooms and shared workspaces meet safety standards.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance, including cleaning and storing items like glucometers, bladder scanners, and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding and purposeful patient interactions to support the healing process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Valid CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety (for Skilled Nursing).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
