Nurse Intern MICU Nights

About the role#

The Nurse Intern supports patient care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration to provide safe, compassionate care while contributing to the patient healing process. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position working night shifts.

What you'll do#

• Provide basic patient care, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures.
• Communicate effectively with the care team, including participating in handoffs and bedside shift reports.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient rooms and shared workspaces.
• Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of patient care equipment such as glucometers and bladder scanners.
• Perform hourly rounding and purposeful interactions to support therapeutic relationships.
• Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately in compliance with facility standards.
• Uphold excellent customer service relations with patients and their families.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• CPR certification issued by the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety (required for Skilled Nursing).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
