About the role#
The Nurse Extern position at the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit offers a learning opportunity for nursing students. You will gain clinical skills and expand your knowledge of patient care while working under the supervision of a registered nurse.
What you'll do#
- Perform delegated basic patient care services.
- Assist patients with their daily living activities.
- Maintain a safe environment for all patients.
- Build your clinical foundation through hands-on experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited registered nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical semester of the core curriculum.
- An active American Heart Association CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider card.
- Ability to work at least 32 hours per month.
- Availability to work one weekend shift per month.
- Availability to work one major holiday in the summer and one in the winter.
- Ability to attend a full week of mandatory hospital orientation, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
