About the role#
The Student Radiology Technologist supports diagnostic imaging services under the direct supervision of licensed Radiologic Technologists and Radiologists. This position provides hands-on clinical experience to help you develop technical competence, patient care skills, and professional behaviors in a medical environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by verifying identity, explaining steps, and ensuring comfort.
- Practice radiation safety principles and enforce Magnetic Resonance safety policies.
- Perform venipuncture for procedures based on exam criteria.
- Coordinate and transport patients with nursing units.
- Prepare labels and containers for contrast administration.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Research patient history and complete tasks within EPIC and PACS systems.
- Respond to patient needs and emergencies by notifying supervising staff.
- Keep the imaging environment clean, organized, and safe.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety huddles, and clinical education activities.
- Assist with clerical and operational tasks to support departmental workflow.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a Radiology Technology program certified by the JCERT, or graduation from such a program while awaiting licensure.
- Ability to achieve CPR certification within 8 weeks of employment.
- Commitment to professional conduct and teamwork.
