About the role#
UC Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Intern to join the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. This role offers a learning environment that incorporates both operational and clinical opportunities. There are no on-call requirements for this position.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership in all aspects of pharmacy services.
- Assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.
- Conduct medication use evaluations per Drug Policy Development (DPD) and subcommittee requests.
- Develop New Drug Memos to educate staff on new drugs added to the formulary.
- Support drug information and education initiatives, including developing responses to information requests.
- Perform tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist, such as interdisciplinary patient care rounds, medication history, counseling, drug preparation, and distribution.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Acceptance to or enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- 0-6 months of equivalent experience.
- Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
- Capacity to work cooperatively with staff, handle frequent interruptions, adapt to changing workloads, and respond to emergency requests.

- Hours: PRN, shift varies.
- Compensation: Expected starting salary range of $19.00 to $24.01 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
